Tesla is for sure the automotive company with most sales online. There are no customer discounts and there is no negotiation for better prices like for other cars. With this in mind there is no need for offline stores. All you need is an online shop. Tesla cars are hyped by influencers on youtube, twitter, instagram and facebook. It is a fact, that most advertising for Tesla cars is done online. So an online shop is a good decision.
If you only sell online, you need the best software. You are dependent on it and its 24/7 availability. You need a premium business shop system and programmers that can maintain it. Magento 2 is Open Source, safe and usable for business cases. But it is also ready for this dimensions?

There are no facts, that Tesla uses Magneto 2 or ever discussed to use it. Adobe bought Magento to sell a premium business shop product, so there may be a chance. As far as it is known, the current Tesla shop system will stay the same.
